All Recovery Groups, Meeting & Activities
under One Roof

All Groups and meeting are hybrid. Which means, they're available either in-person or via the Zoom app for free.

 

Moving on In My Recovery

(MOIMR)

MOIMR is a 12-session group work programme that is aimed at woman and men who are coming to the end of their treatment programme or are considering joining some form of mutual aid. The programme was developed together with people in recovery and is delivered by people in recovery.
The aim of this 12-session programme is to help you develop practical strategies to keep you moving forward with your recovery.


Self Management and Recovery Training
(SMART)

SMART (Self Management and Recovery Training) is a programme that provides training and tools for people who want to change their problematic behaviour, including addiction to drugs, alcohol, cigarettes, gambling, food, shopping, Internet and others. Guided by trained facilitators, participants come to help themselves and help each other using a variety of cognitive behaviour therapy (CBT) and motivational tools and techniques.


Bangor Recovery Project

(BRP)

BRP aims to provide a safe group environment for participants in early recovery whilst they establish themselves in the local recovery community. Establish recovery through engagement with mutual-aid groups as a viable and sustainable option for volunteer participants who want to try abstinence-based recovery. Encourage participants to build their own recoveries through involvement with mutual aid groups and other local recovery activities and groups.


Cocaine Anonymous

CA

Cocaine Anonymous is a fellowship of men and women who share their experience, strength and hope with each other so that they may solve their common problem and help others to recover from their addiction. The only requirement for membership is a desire to stop using cocaine and all other mind-altering substances.




Alcoholics Anonymous
AA

Alcoholics Anonymous is a fellowship of men and women who share their experience, strength and hope with each other that they may solve their common problem and help others to recover from alcoholism. The only requirement for membership is a desire to stop drinking.






Narcotics Anonymous

NA

Narcotics Anonymous, is a fellowship or society of people for whom drugs had become a major problem. We are recovering addicts who meet regularly to help each other stay clean. This is a program of complete abstinence from all drugs. There is only ONE requirement for membership, the desire to stop using. We suggest that you keep an open mind and give yourself a break. Our program is a set of principles written so simply that we can follow them in our daily lives.

Co-Dependents Anonymous
CoDA
Co-Dependents Anonymous, is a fellowship of people whose common purpose is to develop healthy relationships.
The only requirement for member is a
desire for healthy and loving relationships.









Cognitive Music Group

This is a simple yet effective group. Select a song that holds significance for you. Joyful, melancholic, or in between. When the song has done playing, you will have the opportunity to explain to the group the significance you have for that song.






Activity Day

Every Friday between 11 and 4 p.m the Penrhyn community get together for our Activity Day. Engage in thrilling activities such as go-karting, paintballing, scaring each other silly on roller coasters at Alton Towers, Walks and lots more. Recovery benefits from connecting with peers and appreciating life's little pleasures, therefore Activity Day is about more than simply the activity itself. Transport is provided.

5-a-side Football

Recovery is not just about recovery groups and meeting. If you fancy a kick about with others in recovery, get your blood pumping, and get sweat on, please get in touch.

In House Gym

Being physically active can improve your brain health, help manage weight, reduce the risk of disease, strengthen bones and muscles, and improve your ability to do everyday activities. Adults who sit less and do any amount of moderate-to-vigorous physical activity gain some health benefits.



Community Meeting

The Community Meeting is a great way to get together, grab some breakfast, and find out what events and activities have been planned for the next few weeks and months. After the meeting we will all pile into the minibus to head off on that days activity.





1 to 1 Support

We offer One to One support to our Residents & Community Members.

  • Develop a recovery plan.

  • Talking Therapy.

  • Sign posting to other services (if needed).








Recovery Housing

Penrhyn House can accommodate 17 residents at any one time on a temporary basis. There is no minimum or maximum period that people can stay at Penrhyn House, although the average length of stay is around 9 months. Penrhyn House offers a safe, honest, and open environment for people to build their recovery capital and strengthen their resilience, supporting long-term recovery.

 

Penrhyn House Also Provides

A safe space for participants  in early recovery whilst they establish themselves in the local recovery community.

Information on the consequences of substance use disorder and the support available from Mutual aid (AA, NA, CA & SMART Recovery) & other Recovery groups and initiatives.
Encourage & support participants to build their own recoveries through involvement with Mutual aid groups and other recovery-compatible activities.
